One of the great things about Westchester is its wide-ranging stock of historic homes — Tudors, farmhouses, Mediterranean Revivals, center-hall Colonials, capes, Georgians, Gothic Revivals and stone manor houses.
Known for their rich ornamentation and architectural detail, Victorians were an important part of the mix, too, usually dating from the mid to late 1800s. They often included steep roofs, wraparound porches, carved brackets, gingerbread cutouts, dormers and turrets, high ceilings, hand-carved woodwork and ornate chandeliers.
As these homes got renovated and updated over the years, many of those details have been stripped away and simplified. But it’s easy to see the classic bones still in place.
Let’s take a look at five Victorians scattered across the county and on the market now.
