Just over the Westchester County line, with 16 acres of secluded property, Kiwi Country Day is reminiscent of camp from days gone by, but it has all of the modern amenities you’d expect from a best-in-class facility. That’s because according to assistant director Rebecca Weinstein, Kiwi Country Day is an authentic traditional day camp. With a lake for swimming and boating, four pools, an aerial course, sports fields, and plenty of shade for hot summer days, Camp Kiwi (as the campers call it) is like one giant playground. Weinstein says it’s all about creating an environment and community where campers can thrive while having fun in four different areas: aquatics, sports, outdoor adventure, and creative arts.
In fact, providing a fun environment—equipped with counselors who have a knack for inspiring fun, is part of Kiwi’s mission. Weinsten explains, “We’re driven to create a magical place where children can thrive!”
Hair-Raising Fun
With a 450-foot dual Zip Line designed so that campers can race side by side, and a 40-foot free-fall device called Geronimo (on which campers jump from a platform while strapped to a safety harness), Camp Kiwi’s aerial playground is not for the faint of heart.
