Nothing’s better on a hot summer day than a frosty ice cream cone — well except perhaps the new frozen dessert now served at La Tulipe Desserts. Chef Martin Steenman has introduced a selection of French macaron gelato sandwiches, or Macalados as they call it, at the European-style bakery made with his delicious house-made gelato. This creamy — and beautifully presented — treat with only natural ingredients is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth after a day of fun in the hot sun.
The soft cookies give way to bountiful mouthfuls of frozen perfection. La Tulipe is offering a terrific selection of flavors such as mint chocolate, lemon ginger, chocolate raspberry, and Amarena pistachio. As La Tulipe is already known for their large selection of tasty macarons, combining them with their gelato was a natural progression. With Chef Steenman’s secret recipe, the macaron shells stay soft and chewy rather than crispy, as they would typically get under extremely cold temperatures. On top of being delectable, the macaron gelato sandwich is extremely portable. With ice cream sandwiches being all the rage, this is not to be missed.
