LOOK Dine-In Cinemas officially opened their doors in Dobbs Ferry on Thursday, Feb. 10.
This is the first LOOK Cinemas location in New York State and its location in Dobbs Ferry makes it a convenient entertainment spot for those in the Hudson Valley and New York City.
“It’s a great location,” says James Meredith, CMO of LOOK Cinemas. “We were able to see that the people who live here in Dobbs Ferry, and really the whole Hudson Valley, seem to be lacking in quality entertainment. We saw the opportunity and we loved the location, so that’s why we chose it.”
LOOK Cinemas was built on three main pillars of service: hospitality, elevated dining experience, and a distraction-free environment.
“Hospitality is our first pillar and we focus on really trying to understand how we can deliver superior service and how we can create that environment for customers and for guests when they come to our theater,” says Meredith.
LOOK successfully creates their elevated dining experience with their extensive menu that includes all the movie theater classics – popcorn, candy, and nachos – but also main plates like coconut shrimp, mac ‘n’ cheese, personal pizzas, and sliders. They also have a selection of salads, wraps, and mouthwatering sandwiches like their Jalapeno Honey BLT Chicken Sandwich or their Nashville Chicken Sandwich.
LOOK also has a traditional full bar and a lengthy list of cocktails, including their classic margarita, appropriately named the Look-a-rita, a sugar bacon old-fashioned, and the Look + Chill, made with blueberry vodka and gin. Additionally, they also have a variety of wines and beers, including a rotating selection of draft beer from local breweries.
Perhaps most importantly, the ease and convenience of the ordering process is what sets LOOK apart from other dine-in cinemas. There are QR codes at every table that allows customers to scan the code, order from their phone, and the food and beverages are delivered directly to them.
“Research shows that people did not like being interrupted, so we wanted to create a distraction-free environment,” says Meredith. “This way, you’re able to control your own experience.”
Additionally, LOOK prides itself on being an all-inclusive entertainment service that caters to all audiences. While the theater will show all of the big blockbuster films, they also plan to show alternative and independent films, as well as musicals, concerts, plays, and sporting events. In the future, they plan to explore opportunities to bring gaming to the theater as well.
“The idea is to turn the theater into what we like to call an entertainment destination for the whole community,” Meredith says. “So when you’re thinking about what you’re gonna do this weekend, even if you’re not interested in seeing a movie, we might have something you’re interested in.”
As an extra perk, LOOK offers $5 pricing for all shows throughout the day on Tuesdays. They also offer special $5 pricing for the first showing of the day, whether it’s the latest blockbuster or an independent film. You can head over to their website to purchase your tickets and reserve your seats all before you even get to the theater – just make sure you bring your appetite!
