Get Hitched at These Westchester Restaurant Wedding Venues

Hiding in plain sight, these famed county eateries are also ideal places to hold your nuptials.

We’ve always known Westchester is a beautiful locale with a seemingly endless number of wedding venues, but there are a few you might not be aware of, cunningly disguised as popular restaurants.

Now, we’re not saying you should be booking out Walter’s Hot Dogs for your special day — although, Walter’s, get back to us if you’re game — but if you’ve ever dropped by one of these amazing dining destinations and thought, “Wow, this would be a great place for a wedding,” you might just be able to get your wish.

Blue Hill Farm

If you’ve been lucky enough to attend a farm-to-table experience with Blue Hill at Stone Barns, you’ll know how breathtaking it is to dine at such a thoughtfully and sustainably constructed event space. What you may not know is that the restaurant offers private dining experiences for up to 14 guests, and up to 125 in the main dining room. The rustic HayLoft, which seats between 40 and 260 guests, is also available, and the Blue Hill events team is well acquainted with all facets of wedding planning.

Bedford Post Inn

Bedford’s historic inn sports two restaurants on premises, The Barn and The Farmhouse, and event spaces perfectly suited to lifelong commitments. From the soaring ceilings in the yoga studio (also great for a little pre-ceremony nerve calming), to the natural beauty of the outdoor reflecting pool or the intimate fireplace of the wine cellar, the Inn has a place for weddings of all sizes and tastes.

Crabtree’s Kittle House Restaurant & Inn

This Chappaqua mainstay often tops our choices for holiday menus and special dining events, but with more than three decades of event planning under their belts, the staff are no strangers to hosting both wedding receptions and ceremonies. The Main Dining Room (seats 120 with additional space in the Garden and Tap Rooms) and the Carriage Room (seats 225) are both available for day and evening ceremonies. Outdoor garden spaces are also available for either option, making it perfect in nicer weather for cocktails, seating, or an elegant outdoor ceremony.

Contact Crabtree’s Kittle House directly through their website.

Fin & Brew at Factoria

Though you can certainly hold your wedding at the Factoria at Charles Point’s main event space (accommodates up to 250), you can also rent out the restaurant property for smaller gatherings. With an emphasis on regional and sustainable farming practices, the house menu is already geared towards cocktail hours, decadent hors d’oeuvres, and sumptuous sit-down dinners (and the complex also housing River Outpost Brewing Co. doesn’t hurt a party either).

Contact Factoria for event bookings, or call 914.788.4555.

Monteverde at Oldstone

Built by Cortlandt Manor’s eponymous Van Cortlandt family in 1760, the Mansion at Monteverde is an elegant, old-world venue full of sweeping staircases, Juliet balconies, and cozy fireplaces. While you might enjoy the restaurant throughout the year, the grounds are especially well-suited to outdoor ceremonies, with grand views of the Hudson and a tent pavilion cable of seating 350 people for a sit-down dinner, and serving up to 450 for a cocktail reception.

For inquiries, email Director of Events Mary Ellen Fabry at maryellen.fabry@gmail.com, or call 914.737.6555.

Red Hat on the River

This bumping 120-seat French-American bistro in Irvington sits right on the water’s edge, and offers a stunning view of the Hudson from pretty much every chair (so we highly recommend a sunset reception, hint hint). They’re also well practiced when it comes to hosting private events, and that includes your potential wedding. The chefs put an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, and the patio space overlooking the river makes for an incredibly intimate air.

Captain Lawrence

With a beer hall, brewery, and beer garden providing varied spaces for whatever size party you’re planning, this popular after-work hangout also makes for a killer wedding venue. Imagine it: up to a dozen beers all on tap, plus small batch New York State spirits and a variety of house wines, all severed during a light-strung outdoor reception or on the brightly lit brewery dance floor, while Executive Chef Joe Smith crafts perfectly paired food and drink combinations to delight your guests.

Add in the brewery’s existing relationships with bands, DJs and other entertainment companies, and even local transport and valet services, and Captain Lawrence can help plan a full evening of safe and responsible fun for you and your loved ones.

Harvest on Hudson

Combining some of Hastings’ best views of the Hudson and Manhattan skyline with Chef David Amorelli’s locally minded gourmet Italian menu, this restaurant is a longtime county favorite. Smaller weddings up to about a hundred guests will also find it the perfect setting for an elegant evening. Soaring ceilings and a stone fireplace add a rustic feel to the warm interiors, while the precisely manicured lands outside are contrasted by the restaurant’s own vegetable and herb garden.

Purdy’s Farmer and the Fish

When we talk about farm-to-table dining or where to find some of the freshest seafood in Westchester, we’ll always bring up this North Salem eatery. With its own farm just feet away and regular seafood deliveries (trekking from the oh-so far away Bronx), Farmer & the Fish is a perennial favorite. It is also aptly suited for a rustic, farmhouse chic wedding followed by an unforgettable meal your guests will be talking about for years.
