Alarm Clock. It’s the first thing I hear in the morning. During the week, I wake up at 3:30 am; on weekends, I try and sleep until the kids get up.
BLT Steak at The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester. This is one of my favorite places to have dinner with my husband. The skirt steak with chimichurri, braised short ribs, and beet salad are delicious!
Caffeine. Tea in the morning and two afternoon espressos from my Nespresso machine. Those black pods of ristretto—it’s the only way I can make it through the afternoon without falling asleep on the couch.
Deadlines. I live by them every day. They are stressful but effective.
Enhanced Eyelashes. AKA fake ones. Without them, I would look very tired in the morning.
Family. My two kids, husband, mom and dad, sister, and in-laws—the most important people in my life.
Greenburgh Nature Center. One of the best playgrounds for kids. It’s free to roam the grounds of the nature reserve and my daughter and son are not afraid to touch the snakes or iguanas because of the volunteers who work inside the animal exhibit.
Healthy. The way I try to eat. Believe it or not, those squeezable spinach/apple packs toddlers normally eat are part of my morning routine.
Italy. Where my family is originally from and where I was married. I was once told to change my last name for work. My grandfather would have killed me!
Janine Rose. Anchor and News Director of News 12 as well as mentor, friend, and supportive boss.
Kensico Dam Plaza. Climbing the stairs to the top of the dam is a hard-core workout that ends with a beautiful view. The playground and bike riding below are great, too.
Love to Cook. Garlic shrimp with rapini and fettuccine or Nana’s chicken are two of my favorite dishes.
Morning Team. All the talented producers, directors, editors, and my teammates on the anchor desk that I collaborate with every day.
News 12. Where my colleagues and I work to deliver the most important local news of the day.
On The Night You Were Born. One of the first books my mom gave me after my son came into this world. I still read it to both my children and it still can make me cry.
Patisserie. The Chantilly Patisserie in Bronxville, to be exact. My favorite treats are the French macarons and mini olive baguettes.
Quiet. Something I welcome after a long day of breaking news and once the kids are tucked into their beds and fast asleep.
Reading in bed. A novel is a luxury for me these days but Goodnight Moon and Dr. Seuss are always part of my bedtime routine with the kids.
Sérgio Mendes. The music from the Brazilian artist, Fleetwood Mac, Katy Perry, and Pitbull are all part of my Pandora Internet Radio rotation.
Tree Lighting in Tuckahoe & Bronxville. The skating and reindeer in Depot Square and “running into” Santa strolling along Pondfield Road handing out candy canes is a a holiday “must do” for our familly.
Under the Anchor Desk. I wear leggings in the studio, even in summer! The studio is an ice-box!
Veterans and the military. My family has a rich history in the military. My father was a lieutenant colonel in the Army and many of my close relatives graduated and were leaders at West Point.
Westchester Magazine. (Of course!) And I get to read it as part of my job.
XXOO. The way I sign off on all my cards, letters, and notes to loved ones.
Yoga. The Crunch: Yoga Mama DVD helped me stay energized and relaxed during both my pregnancies.
ZZZZZZZZs. What I wish I had more of.
