Two food pairing dinners built around California wines are a great excuse to visit Equus, recently deemed “Excellent” by the New York Times (not to mention its eye-popping location in a castle overlooking the Hudson). The first dinner, on Thursday, November 6, pairs five courses with wines from Silver Oak Winery in the Napa Valley, whose Cabernet (which is all they produce—you’ll get to taste two) has a cult following, and whose Twomey Cellars in the Alexander Valley will supply other wines for your other courses. At a second dinner, on Thursday, November 13, meet James MacPhail, producer of small-batch Pinot noir, Chardonnay, and rosé from the Sonoma Coast, Russian River Valley, and Anderson Valley. Check out the menus below, and if you can picture yourself there, make your reservations soon.
