Drink your daily fruit servings, we won’t tell! Steeped in history and heritage, Heimat offers fruity, German-style liquors inspired by the founder’s German grandmother’s recipe. Always made with fruit from local NY farms, the fresh flavors like bosc pear, cranberry, white peach, rhubarb, nectarine, raspberry, and blackberry have endless cocktail opportunities. Combine the rhubarb flavor with champagne for an easy Bellini; mix the raspberry liquor with gin, lemon juice, and egg whites for a raspberry sour; or simply pour a shot or two over some ice cream for a boozy dessert. Unfortunately, the Mamaroneck production site is closed for tastings (at press time) due to COVID, but WFH bartenders can pick up a bottle (or one of each flavor) from retail locations across the East Coast.

Sound Shore Distillery
360 Mt Pleasant Ave E, Mamaroneck; 914.341.1068
Previously known as Good Shepherd Distillery, Sound Shore Distillery continues to serve the same brandy, vodka, and single malt whiskey with redesigned packaging. And… just a quick drive over the county line:
KAS Spirits
46 Miller Rd, Mahopac; 845.750.6000
KAS Spirits may only offer one spirit, but boy-oh-boy does it do the distillation well. Unlike other distilleries on this list, this Mahopac spot only distills one type of alcohol called Krupnikas, a spicy honey-flavored liquor that is popular in Lithuania and Poland. Sweetened with local New York honey and with tangs of vanilla, saffron, and cardamom, KAS Krupnikas can be added to both cold and warm cocktails as an easy and flavorful way to make cozy mulled wine or a refreshing Negroni.
