What made you decide to design a furniture line?
I’ve been designing custom pieces for my clients my entire career — everything from the smallest detail to the entire suite of furnishings for an apartment or a home. The idea of a furniture collection has been on my radar for a long time, but about a year ago I decided to focus and develop the home-furnishings aspect of our business and offer it to a wider audience.
What was your inspiration for this line?
The collection features a mix of materials, such as luxurious wood finishes and lustrous metal detailing, introducing a cohesive thread of design throughout the collection, which was inspired by the architecture of New York City.
Do you have a favorite piece?
I’m partial to the Squarish Chair, as it has evolved to have a life beyond simply the functionality of its intended purpose as seating. The chair in its InBloom iteration is currently on tour at various art galleries [Forward Contemporary in Katonah, Sorelle Gallery in New Canaan, and this fall its headed to Galleria Ca’ d’Oro in New York City].
