Baldwin Farm, an 18.5-acre city-owned park in the Woodcrest Heights neighborhood of White Plains. I would like to see White Plains have a nature preserve there.
Comprehensive Plan, combined with a common vision builds a sense of community and protects neighborhoods and infrastructure from unbalanced growth.
Democrat. Growing up under Francisco Franco’s regime in the Canary Islands, Spain, I could not be prouder to now be an American Democrat.
Ernesto. My great-uncle Ernesto Lecuona was a famous Cuban composer and pianist, and his work always reminds me how important family is.
Family is always first! Nothing compares with the love and care of a family.
Gacel. My dear son and my angel. He is always by my side.
Jack Harrington, a legendary White Plains resident with a passion for history and preservation that helped create public nature spaces. He passed away in May at age 97.
Isadora. My lovely daughter, an extremely creative mind, and she “Is-adorable.”
Justice and fairness should be our top priorities as legislators.

Long Island Sound Water
Inter-municipal Committee (LISWIC). How is that for a mouthful? I serve as representative of White Plains, one of 13 Westchester municipalities participating to help protect the Long Island Sound.

Ocean. In the summers, I get away to Amagansett Bay [on Long Island] and swim in the ocean.
Painting! I used to own an art studio, and I still love to paint when I can find the time.

Resiliency is a way to keep our cities moving forward in a responsible way. Resilient cities guarantee a safe and secure future to our residents.
Sustainable White Plains Committee (SWP). I have been chairing a group of dedicated White Plains residents who meet monthly to help advise our city about cost-effective measures for reducing the environmental impacts of citizens, businesses, and city government.

Urban Planning. I received my dual master’s degree in urban planning and international and public affairs from Columbia University in 2011.
Volunteer. I’ve volunteered with many organizations and boards, ranging from the White Plains PTA to El Centro Hispano.

White Plains, my home since 1987. It never ceases to amaze me how many unique neighborhoods we have in just 9.9 square miles.
Xenophile. I enjoy meeting interesting people every day.
Youth. I have taught at the university level and have given workshops at White Plains High School, and I appreciate the input of young minds.
Zarzuela, a form of Spanish opera, which I enjoy performing in my very limited spare time.
