Bronxville’s reputation for stellar schools and multimillion-dollar mansions precedes it, but you don’t need a six-figure income to enjoy a Saturday here. Despite its diminutive stature, this one-square-mile village has lots to offer, from boutique shopping to affordable dining.

9 a.m. – Eat Breakfast at Bronxville Diner

When you walk into the Bronxville Diner (112 Kraft Ave; 914.779.1777), it looks like you are in a scene from the movie Grease. To make things even better, the food is slamming. With an extremely large breakfast menu to choose from, you will find something that piques your interest.

11 a.m. – Do Some Shopping on Pondfield Road

There’s a lot of great shopping along Pondfield Road, but don’t miss harry: A Rothmans Project (60 Pondfield Rd; 914.779.1797). A small concept store from the iconic menswear retailer, harry carries cool pieces from lesser-known brands alongside recognizable names like J Brand and Noah Waxman. Down the block, Toney Toni and the Gang (70 Pondfield Rd; 914.793.0737) has a knack for finding dresses, jackets, and accessories that are chic and timeless.

12 p.m. – Grab a Sandwich at Lange’s

A village institution, Lange’s of Bronxville (94 Pondfield Rd; 914.337.3354) is the place to grab a sandwich, with more than 50 options to choose from, like a classic Italian combo or roast beef with pepper jack and basil mayo on rye.

1:30 p.m. – Recharge with Coffee from Slave to the Grind

Get a mid-afternoon caffeine fix at Slave to the Grind (58 Pondfield Rd; 914.961.7777). The indie coffeehouse is beloved for its house brew, flavored coffees (think coconut cream, snickerdoodle, and toasted almond), and homey baked goods.

3 p.m. – Stay on Pondfield Road to Continue Shopping

Browse the bookshelves for bestsellers and kid-friendly reads at independent Womrath Bookshop (76 Pondfield Rd; 914.337.0199), in business for more than 80 years. Then, stop by The Silk Road NY (101 Pondfield Rd; 914.337.2177), where owner Susan Piper scours the globe — Thailand, Peru, South Africa, and the US — to curate an eclectic mix of home-décor pieces.

5 p.m. – Have Dinner at Pete’s Park Place Tavern

Pete’s Park Place Tavern (18-20 Park Pl; 914.337.9887) is in the heart of Bronxville and has been a staple for decades. This classic tavern donned in red-checkered tablecloths is the perfect place to go to if you are looking for a delicious cheeseburger or their famous chicken wings. If that’s not enough, they also have live music every Saturday night at 9:30 p.m.

7 p.m. – Burn off Those Extra Calories by Walking Along the Bronxville Lake

Head north off Pondfield Road West to access a segment of the Bronx River Pathway, which wends a one-mile loop around picture-perfect Bronxville Lake.

9 p.m. – Catch a Snooze at the Royal Regency Hotel

The Royal Regency Hotel (165 Tuckahoe Rd; 914.476.6200), located a few miles outside of Bronxville, is known for their hospitality. With a complimentary deluxe continental breakfast, fitness centers and suites with jacuzzis, this elegant hotel is the place to be to have an enjoyable night.
