After teaming up with Marcus Partners, Trammell Crow is building 450 new upscale apartments in central Westchester County.
After teaming up with Marcus Partners, realtor Trammell Crow is officially bringing elevated apartment living to Westchester County. Trammell Crow is breaking ground in Westchester because of its strong foundation, demographics, transportation, and employment. Its latest project, apartment complex Alexan Harrison, began construction in August and will see its completion in April 2024. Once finished, the apartments will reside on Westchester Park Drive in Harrison and include two buildings with a total of 450 units. The building is convenient for New York City commuters, as the residences are only a 10-minute drive from the White Plains train station, and the train to Grand Central is less than an hour.
The Alexan Harrison project is the first effort of Trammell Crow Residential to expand into Westchester County, and it plans on continuing development in other suburban New York City areas. Northeast Managing Director Andy Huntoon recognizes the draw to Westchester County. “Alexan Harrison is our first foray into New York’s Westchester County – a proven market with a rich tradition of suburban life offering access to abundant corporate headquarters and an excellent school system. We are building something special here – a place that residents will be drawn to, with community and warmth in a vibrant and exciting area,” he notes.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, suburban luxury apartment buildings continue to pop up as renters and homeowners ditch the city for the suburbs. This increase in demand for apartment living has caused a new market to emerge, offering residents the feel of a hotel in a long-term residence. Additionally, Trammell Crow tearing down an office space to build Alexan Harrison is a part of a larger movement in the area to convert office parks into residential and retail spaces.
Of the two planned buildings, Alexan Harrison is set to have a theme for each, with one of the buildings having a more urban feel and the other having a more rustic, country vibe. The development will offer studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom apartments, ranging from 507 to 2,135 square feet, with the average apartment weighing in at around 940 square feet. Trammell Crow hopes to offer more than an apartment building to residents, creating a community that makes renters feel as though they live in a hotel.
And like any luxury hotel, Alexan Harrison will offer numerous amenities for its residents to use. A resort-style pool, 10,000-sq-ft clubhouse, wellness center, game room, and even outdoor pizza ovens are some of the many features this development will make available. In addition, the apartments will impress just as much with nine-foot ceilings, open floor plans, and granite countertops in both the kitchens and bathrooms.
Some units at Alexan Harrison will also feature balconies and walk-in closets, and some will even offer townhouse-style living with direct entry from street level. Additionally, Wegman’s grocery store as well Lifetime Fitness Center are conveniently located within easy walking distance of Alexan Harrison, perks which cannot possibly be overhyped. When you combine two buildings with luxury amenities, units designed to fit the tastes of different people, expansive square footage, and an increased demand in suburban living, it’s safe to say Alexan Harrison will become an in-demand place to live.
