It was a mad, mad, mad evening the other night at The Ritz Carlton, when 60 guests dressed in 1960s period clothes, came to raise money for a student scholarship fund for local colleges. The theme for the evening, a fundraiser for the 100-member Ad Club, was the hit TV show Mad Men; you know, the show where everyone drinks lots and lots of martinis (starting at 10 am), smoke cigarettes non-stop, and wear dirndl skirts, sweater sets, and dark suits. Ad Club board member Cathy Pinsky came up with the mad men theme. “A Mad Men party is perfect! The whole show is based around the advertising world, and I thought it would be so much fun to dress like in that era,” Best dressed of the night? Nightfly’s vote goes to both Sandy Hapoienu, founder of Styling Session and Cathy Pinsky of Pinsky Studio. Sandy glimmered in a gold dress and Cathy wore an ivory vintage dress with black buttons and black velvet trim around the collar.
