One of the hottest health and wellness trends currently is, ironically enough, cryotherapy. The popular treatment sessions blast parts or all of your body with mind-bogglingly frigid temperatures — as low as -250ºF — and purports to shock the body into survival mode. The end results? Customers claim improved circulation, reduced inflammation, better skin, and even reduced wrinkles from increased collagen production.

If you’ve been considering giving the process a go but weren’t sure where to head, here are six Westchester-based businesses that are offering the service.
Evolve Athletic Club
White Plains
A great place to start, Evolve offers cryotherapy out of its White Plains facility in all three of the most popular forms: Whole body cryotherapy puts patrons into a liquid nitrogen cooled box about the size of a stand-up tanning booth and shocks the body for three minutes of chills. Local cryotherapy is a more targeted practice, utilizing a handheld device to blast cold air and is great for spot-treatments and reducing inflammation in specific parts of the body. Lastly, forget the seaweed and sliced cucumber; Cryo facials are said to flush toxins, reduce irritation, and provide other beauty benefits. Treatments range $15 to $80 per session, with discounts given for club members, first-timers, and multiple-session packages.
Freeze Cryotherapy
Rye Brook
This Rye Brook location offers all three major cryo treatments — whole body, localized, and facials — as well as group “FREEZE Parties” with refreshments for groups of ten or more. Individual sessions cost $60 to $80 with discounts for first-timers as well as 3-, 5-, 10-, and 20-pack customers.
Iron Health
Ardsley, Briarcliff Manor
Having recently opened its second location in Ardsley, Iron Health’s two facilities offer whole body treatments with option add-ons including Normatec System compressed air and Hypervolt massage sessions. Single sessions are only $54, though newbies can snag a $10 discount and 10-packs are available at a reduced price. (Iron Health’s physical therapy “gold members” receive an additional discount.)
Nordic Edge
Eastchester, Scarsdale
With two Westchester locations (and one more in New Canaan), Nordic Edge might be one of the most convenient businesses to get to on this list. The wellness company offers localized and whole body cry, as well as Nordic Facials and other popular treatments like salt room, infrared, and compression therapies. Individual sessions run $35 to $85, with sizable discounts for first timers, members, and 5- or 10-pack buyers. They even offer Groupons!

Cryo Arctic
Mount Kisco
This new health and wellness spa isn’t technically even open yet, but with an opening date of April 1 and its variety of services, it deserves a mention. The business is positioning itself to be a center for local health and wellness treatments, offering whole body cryo and facials, as well as localized cryo specifically geared toward injury recover, compression therapy, infrared sauna, and others. Individual sessions run $45 to 85, though, as always, first-timers and members receive significant discounts (5- and 10-packs are also available).
