Barbara and James Kudla, owners
Tarrytech Computer Consultants provides IT support and network management in Westchester and throughout the New York-metro area. The company’s growth has been steady and impressive over its 15-year history, increasing at a rate of approximately 20 percent each year for the past five years, with 30 percent growth this year alone.
Owners and spouses James and Barbara Kudla met as Binghamton University students in 1989. Like many in the tech world, their backgrounds are eclectic: Barbara has a master’s degree in elementary education and James, a mechanical engineer, worked at General Motors (including work on their groundbreaking EV1 electric car). In the competitive tech-support industry, Tarrytech sets itself apart with its focus on the individual: The company makes it a point to follow up on each and every query in a timely fashion — their response time averages 15 minutes or less.
Staying cutting-edge in the warp-speed tech world is all-important. James and Barbara are part of several industry groups and attend numerous industry events. Tarrytech’s staff, as well (the “best and brightest,” say the Kudlas) keep current via seminars and technical certifications.
“The business community in Westchester is highly educated, sophisticated, and diverse,” according to James, making it an ideal place for Tarrytech to provide its business services.
