Director of Operations & Management
GHP Office Realty, LLC
Robert McNamara skipped his 2013 college graduation from the University at Albany to go right to work for GHP Office Realty, LLC, starting as a tenant-services coordinator. “I was opening the mail, doing data entry, answering the phones, things like that,” says the Putnam County native. “And I worked my way up.”
He did so quickly, too: By fall 2018, he was promoted to his current role at the White Plains-based company. Today, he manages the day-to-day operations of 23 buildings — collectively more than 2.4 million square feet of space — and helps manage everything from leaky faucets to build-outs for some 200 tenants.
The Pleasantville resident is also in his second term on the board of directors for the Westchester chapter of the Building Owners and Managers Association. He also takes classes through the organization’s international arm and has received a certificate in commercial property management from NYU’s Schack Institute of Real Estate.
McNamara says he has a problem-solver mentality and that “it trickles into everything I do. Figuring out new, creative, cost-effective, and efficient ways to solve problems is what I love [about my role]. And then, at the end of the day, you’re really helping people.”
It’s the closest I’m going to be to a superhero,” he adds, “so I get that sense of fulfillment from it.”
