Kitchens are the heart of the home, and in Westchester County, where houses can range from new to several decades old, keeping that heart beating is crucial. That’s where Majestic Kitchens and Bath, based in Mamaroneck, comes in.

The business was purchased in 1985 by Bill Luceno, who had been designing for the company since the 1970s, and it’s been family-owned ever since. Today, Majestic has 30 employees between the shop and the showroom. Over the last decade, Majestic has seen 5-to-10 percent annual increases in revenue, carrying both outside brands and their own. The company is now operated by Bill’s sons, William and Mark Luceno, along with Roberto Leira, sales manager, who manages  15 kitchen and bath designers while successfully working with his own clients. Leira, who came to Majestic as an experienced kitchen designer in 2005, quickly became William’s “go-to” person.

Kathie Anechiarico, Majestic’s marketing/ outreach coordinator, attributes the firm’s success to its family bond. “The succession from the first generation to the second is probably the most notable in Majestic’s history and future,” says Anechiarico, “because William has to see Majestic through the age of technology.”

Even though Westchester’s constant renovation cycle is good for the industry, technological advances like online ordering and competing with larger, national chains, like Lowe’s and Home Depot, pose a threat. But, Anechiarico says of Majestic: “We stand by our personalized business model: community-focused client service, high-quality product, and impeccable design standards.”

Operating out of the 9,000 sq. ft. showroom that they moved to from White Plains in 1995, Majestic has its own stone and wood shops, to make sure that customers have access to any trend coming down the pipeline for years to come.
