This spring, Laurie Gerber took the helm at EPOCH Senior Living, one of the largest regional senior living companies in the Northeast — vowing to build upon the legacy her late husband, EPOCH’s founder and CEO Laurence Gerber, established.
Larry Gerber died in March at age 66 after founding the company in 1997 and overseeing its exponential growth. The company currently operates five Waterstone senior living communities – including Waterstone of Westchester in White Plains – and 11 Bridges by EPOCH memory care assisted living communities throughout the Northeast.
Laurie Gerber previously served as an executive at various public and private equity firms and was a partner at the accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. She visited all the EPOCH communities, including the White Plains location, to spend time with team members dedicated to maintaining her husband’s lasting contributions to senior living.
“Knowing what he wanted to do and how he wanted to do it and what his philosophy was — which was taking good care of the residents and also taking good care of the employees and making sure that it was a great place to work — are things that are kind of part of who I am now.”
