Why It Works: You get to eat in an intimate, sophisticated wine cellar surrounded by bottles of fine vintage. You’ll have your choice of 45 different wines offered from the best wine regions in Argentina, including San Rafael, Luján de Cuyo, La Rioja, Patagonia, and Mendoza, to accompany the Argentinian parrillada, a mixed grill of skirt steak, mendozino, asado, hanger steak, sirloin, pork, thin sweet sausage, yucca, and jumbo fries. There are a number of standout items: treats like mussels with chorizo, beef empanadas, stuffed lobster tail, New York strip, chicken martini, and dessert crêpes filled with dulce de leche that make the evening special. You can order from the menu or opt for one of the restaurant’s three- or four-course packages. The service is professional; the food, stellar (a combination of Argentinian and Italian); the décor, stylish; and the hospitality as warm as the gaucho prints that line the walls.
Fine Print: The wine cellar holds up to 40 people, with a 10-person minimum. A larger private room accommodates 80. A $350 deposit is necessary if you have 25 or fewer (no charge if you have more). Meal plans average $65 per person. There is free valet parking.
