5 Westchester Business Leaders on 914INC.’s Role in the Community

Our county has experienced great change over the past 15 years. We spoke to local business leaders about how 914INC. helped tell Westchester’s story and what they are most looking forward to.

“There has been a paradigm shift in how people receive their health care, moving toward outpatient facilities that offer the latest state-of-the-art medical technology in a central and convenient location. Nowhere is this trend more evident than in Westchester County’s robust health care sector, which is being driven by the county’s aging Baby Boomer population. From the Medical Mile along I-287 to the North Yonkers Medical Mile, we see this trend continuing in the years ahead which is positive news for Westchester’s commercial real estate industry. Another trend underway is how the explosive growth of e-commerce has created a booming market for warehouse distribution centers. A good example of this is the 150,000-square-foot distribution warehouse Amazon recently opened in Hawthorne. Both of these important real estate trends have been regularly reported in 914INC., which serves as a reliable source for the latest business and real estate news in Westchester County and the greater Hudson Valley.”

“As we look ahead to 2025, the Business Council of Westchester is excited to build on the momentum of our AI Alliance 360, which brought hundreds together to explore the transformative power of artificial intelligence in 2024. We are also eager to spotlight the emerging influence of Gen Z in Westchester’s business community, ensuring their voices are heard and their contributions recognized. Additionally, we’re thrilled to expand our streaming programming with a new podcast dedicated to the vital role of nonprofits, further enriching the conversation around innovation and impact in our region. Much of our programming’s success would not be possible without media partners like 914INC., which provides essential news and information to our members.”

“Congratulations to 914INC. on 15 years of celebrating Westchester’s business community, including the nonprofit sector, which comprises nearly 20% of the county’s workforce. The elevation of important social and economic issues by 914INC.—such as equity, diversity and inclusion, and women in business—holds great importance to the sector and is a noteworthy contribution made by your publication. Westchester’s nonprofit organizations and professionals are honored to be among those businesses and individuals that have been recognized for their positive impact on the vibrancy of our villages, towns, and cities. We look forward to many more years of partnering with you to give voice to the many factors that foster growth and success for all residents of Westchester County.”

“914INC. and the WCA are sharing big anniversaries—we are ushering in our 75th year. Whether covering the latest economic trends, profiling leading business personalities, or highlighting the work of important companies and organizations, 914INC. is a must-read for the professionally informed. With new political leadership at both the county and national levels, this will be a year of change in Westchester, and we are well-positioned to build on a strong foundation. Looking ahead, we have a lot to think about. How will our businesses continue to move toward more environmentally friendly and sustainable practices? How will we create lasting, regional talent pipelines? How can we enhance our robust life-sciences industry? Perhaps most importantly, how can we all collaborate to build an economy that aspires to work for everyone? Congratulations on your big year, 914INC.!”
