Parties with plenty of shimmer and shine are the specialty of Sparklicious, an event venue in Mount Kisco that is the perfect place for a glamour birthday party or group outing for crafty kids ages 3-14. Behind the successful 1,000 sq. ft. studio is the detail-oriented Alyssa Genovese. Party planning is in Genovese’s genes, as she grew up watching her mother helm a children’s party center in Lower Westchester.
From a young age, Genovese knew she wanted to create a party business with her sister. Her aim? For Sparklicious party guests to feel that they shine when they come to her studio. “Kids feel empowered through their handmade sparkly creations,” Genovese says, explaining that they make items such as bracelets or lip glosses from scratch, deciding the colors and the scents. “We are also teaching them that kindness makes you sparkle,” she adds. Genovese spreads her own kindness by having the business support such charities as Ronald McDonald House in Valhalla and the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
In addition to the Mount Kisco studio, Genovese and her Sparkle Team do off-site parties at people’s homes throughout Westchester and Fairfield Counties, as well as at after-school enrichment clubs. They are currently in the process of opening additional locations, in Westport and a soon-to-be-announced Lower Westchester location. Additionally, she recently franchised the brand.
